The free clinic was open to 2nd through 8th graders and attracted approximately 400 pre-registered young athletes, with additional participants joining through walk-up registration the day of the event. The energy throughout the stadium was absolutely incredible as kids, parents, families, and FSU fans came together for a day filled with football, fun, and Seminole spirit!
What an incredible day for the Greater Pensacola community and Seminole fans! On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Florida State University brought its FSU Youth Clinic to Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, creating an unforgettable experience for local youth and families.
One of the biggest highlights was the opportunity for the kids to meet FSU Head Coach Mike Norvell during registration and check-in. Coach Norvell brought tremendous energy to the event, greeting the young Seminoles with fist bumps, high fives, smiles, and plenty of encouragement. For many of these kids, getting to meet an FSU head coach up close was a memory they will never forget.
The excitement continued throughout the day as members of the FSU coaching staff and former Seminole players spent time interacting with the kids, families, and fans. Among those in attendance were Associate Head Coach/Defensive Tackles Coach Odell Haggins, Wide Receivers Coach Ron Dugans, Defensive Backs Coach/Defensive Passing Game Coordinator Marcus Woodson, Defensive Coordinator Adam Fuller, Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Ends Coach John Papuchis, and former Seminole linebacker Amari Gainer, along with other members of the FSU football family.
Beyond football, the Youth Clinic was a fantastic opportunity for Florida State to connect with the Pensacola community and inspire the next generation of athletes. The smiles, enthusiasm, and excitement from the kids made it clear what a special day it was!
A tremendous THANK YOU goes out to all of the FSU coaches, players, support staff, volunteers, and the Blue Wahoos Stadium staff for helping make this such a terrific event. We are proud to have been part of bringing this experience to Pensacola and look forward to creating more opportunities for our local Seminole community.
