The Greater Pensacola Seminole Club’s 2026 Annual Kickoff Event was truly like no other! On Thursday, August 13, Heritage Hall at Seville Quarter was packed to capacity as Seminoles from across the Pensacola area came together to celebrate Florida State, reconnect with old friends, and officially kick off another season of Seminole Football.
And what a night we had in store! 🏹🍢
The excitement was already at an all-time high as a sold-out crowd gathered in anticipation of our featured guest, former FSU quarterback Jordan Travis, who recently joined Seminole Boosters as the Seminoles United Content & Programming Lead.
But GPSC had a surprise waiting for our guests…
Two legendary voices of Florida State Football took the stage together!
🎙️ Gene Deckerhoff, the legendary former Voice of the Seminoles, joined us for a special appearance alongside 🎙️ Jeff Culhane, the current Voice of the Seminoles. Deckerhoff spent an incredible 43 years behind the microphone calling FSU games, making his appearance a truly special moment for generations of Seminole fans.
Before the program began, the energy throughout Heritage Hall was incredible. Fans lined up for photos and autographs with Jordan Travis, who spent more than an hour meeting attendees, signing memorabilia, taking pictures, and greeting Seminole fans with the same genuine enthusiasm that has made him such a beloved figure in the FSU family.
As the evening officially got underway, GPSC President Melanie Collins welcomed the sold-out crowd and kicked off the program by introducing Jeff Culhane.
Jeff then brought out Gene Deckerhoff, and the two took Seminole fans on an unforgettable trip down memory lane. Gene shared stories, memories, and behind-the-scenes moments from his remarkable broadcasting career, giving everyone in the room a chance to relive some of the greatest moments in Florida State history.
It was more than a conversation—it was a celebration of Seminole history, tradition, and the voices that have helped define generations of FSU football.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for…
Jordan Travis took the stage! 🍢🏹
Jeff and Jordan talked about Jordan’s incredible Florida State career, his journey after football, and his exciting new chapter with Seminoles United. Jordan now plays a key role in helping Seminole Boosters connect fans, alumni, and supporters through new content, experiences, storytelling, and opportunities to strengthen the Seminole family year-round.
Jordan’s message of community and connection was especially fitting for GPSC. His new role is focused on bringing Seminoles together—and that is exactly what this night accomplished.
The evening concluded with a fun and engaging Q&A session, giving our guests the opportunity to hear directly from three incredible personalities who have each played an important role in the Florida State story.
And then, as only Seminoles can do, we finished the night the right way…

With the entire room on its feet, the Seminole spirit filled Heritage Hall as Jordan Travis planted the spear on a mini FSU football field, bringing an unforgettable evening to an incredible close. 🏹🔥
